International donors and stakeholders will meet this week at Robertson Hall in sunny Miami, FL to continue discussions on rebuilding the battered nation of Haiti. This year’s conference will focus on implementation issues surrounding the Government of Haiti’s Action Plan for National Recovery and Development, which major donors, NGOs, and other stakeholders helped produce and have committed to support. The conference will begin with a plenary session on Thursday, December 8, 2010, followed by a week of intense negotiations, although not without the occasional soiree. On Friday evening, World Bank representatives have invited all delegates to attend a performance of Floyd Collins, a musical based on the true story of a man stuck in a cave.
